Enoch Encourages Residents to Plant Trees

About 600 people gathered at the Enoch City offices April 26 to learn about tree selection and maintenance, see a tree planting demonstration, and receive a free tree.
Each child who attended the city’s annual Arbor Day celebration was given a free tree. Debra Ley, a member of the Arbor Day committee, said they gave out 240 trees to children. (read

Parowan City Council Reviews Swimming Pool Fees

The Parowan City Council considered adjusting the community swimming pool fees for the summer season of 2008 during its April 24 work meeting.
Mayor Jim Robinson said, in an analysis of charges for several public pools, the city considers the charges for its pool to be way too low. He said there are two perspectives on the issue. (read

Bradshaw Chevrolet Buick Maintains Tradition

PHS Baseball Drops To One-Loss Bracket

The Parowan baseball team survived an elimination game against North Sevier, but lost to South Sevier in the second round of the state playoffs in Spanish Fork Saturday, May 3.
Parowan began the day with a must-win contest against North Sevier. Unlike the softball tournament, the first round was a single elimination contest for both teams. Parowan, riding on five RBIs from senior Dane Askeroth, claimed an 11-7 win. (read

'Stamp Out Hunger' Food Drive Around Corner

The United States Postal Service, Letter Carriers, Campbell's Soups, Valpak/Cox Target Media, and many volunteers unite to conduct the 16th Annual “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive, Saturday, May 10. The food collected during the drive will be used to benefit local food banks, Stefaney Bishop, coordinator for the Washington County portion of the drive, said. The Letter Carrier's food drive takes place nationally on the Saturday before Mother’s Day every year, Bishop said, specifically to benefit food banks the most. (read
